Even So, I Carry On

Whether through media or the degradation of morality, some people find pleasure in harming others emotionally or tarnishing reputations.

Satan loves to use this weapon.  He uses jealousy, gossip, and the fearful and prideful natures of people (to name a few) to do his work.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful.  Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Even so, I carry on.
Stay strong, carry on.

God does not leave us wounded.

If you feel the attacks of those around you, find solace in knowing it not of God but of the devil.  It is God’s fight, not yours.

2 Samuel 22:4, “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.”

Petra, I Will Call Upon The Lord

Tolerating people’s slander is not easy but God has said he will deal with your enemies.  Therefore let the only one who is capable of righteous judgment handle it.

Do not let their lack of self-control effect your life, attitude, or walk with God.  Keep your head up and keep your joy.

Matthew 5:11, ““Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”

This does not mean be a doormat.  You have the right to confront, in a Godly way, those who are causing you harm.

Matthew 18:15 says, “15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.”

When a person chooses to gossip about you, the relationship is torn.  So confronting a situation does not cause any further harm.  The relationship is already lost.  You may as well forget the human aspect of it and confront their un-Christ-like behavior.  Only here we can find forgiveness and restoration.

God is always working on us, refining us.  As much as God will deal with our enemies for our sake, he refines them for their sake also.

This is an important part to remember.  Although we place an emotional overcast on a situation, God see His child straying from the flock and like any Father will go to find His lost sheep.

When we realize this, we can see we need to pray.  This is not an easy task but when we see the evil through God’s eyes, we see something very different.

We can see a lost, hurting soul that is no different from the many people we pray to find salvation or restoration.

Brandon Heath – Give Me Your Eyes is a great song to remind us of this very topic.

Do not let the attacks of the world affect your concern and care for others.  Some people you care for will continue to be wounded people.  People generally bite those trying to care for them or cling to them.  Either is suffocating, both need prayer. There are victories and those make the struggles and trials worth it all.

Do not let this deter you from doing God’s work.  The gossip is not a reflection of you but of their heart.

Stay strong and keep going!

Much Love,

Trisha

  1. Wow, thank you for this post! I have the tendency to let the cares of this world impact my Walk with the Lord in a negative way which in turn makes me “useless” spreading God’s Love to others! I have been convicted of this. Thank you for sharing your heart! It has been a blessing! God Bless!

I would love to hear from you.
